3 week agoTried this as Dine Around Victoria just started. It's a set menu, good portions on the food, and overall satisfactory. I really liked the humboldt squid salad. It's $45 dollars for the set but some items have supplementary costs ranging from $3 to $5 for the mussels or steak which wasn't on the Dine Around menu on the website but is on the menu in the restaurant. I can understand that this is a compromise to still include high cost ingredients to the set, but it would be in the best interest of the customers to have this reflect on the Dine Around website so they know what to expect coming in. Overall the experience is pleasant, I always like it when you get to eat the food without being rushed and so I liked it here.

1 month agoWent with my family that came from out of town and it did hit the spot! (Like usually does, cause this place it’s a gem). Super cozy atmosphere, right in downtown, tasty food and seasoned properly, friendly service, nice drinks… I mean, the list can go on and on. I may be biased, cause I really like the place, but I”ll recommend the house made chicken liver pate, the salmon with lemon risotto and the feature lamb. For dessert, the Amarena cherry gelato, it’s indeed from other world. They also have an other restaurant just right down the street that the food it’s as tasty as the Bistro, other vibe, tho. In this other restaurant, chicken tacos and wagyu gyoza are my favorites. Over all, for me, it’s always a good time.

1 month agoI decided to try something out of my usual comfort zone and boy was I impressed. Chicken liver pate…who knew it could be so flippin good!!! I’ve never had a pate with such a silky texture and depth of flavour. Raves all around from every dish at our table of 7. I didn’t remeber a before picture but the after is there. Great value for the generous serving. Happy customer who will definitely return!

2 month agoAmazing restaurant. Best Fish n Chips and French Onion Soup to die for! Their Halibut is the almost the same price as the touristy Fisherman’s Wharf, but the key difference is the fish is an excellent bigger size, the batter is light and crispy. Subbed out chips for a salad. Their cocktails are amazing. A beautiful restaurant on Courtney Street.Zoe is a lovely and attentive server.

2 month ago5 stars all around. Just a stroll off the busy harbour front, unique atmosphere and excellent service. The best part is by far the food, with a majority of the ingredients sourced from local farms! I enjoyed the duck confit salad and a beverage- seaside highball- which were both phenomenal. The burger was also excellent tasting.

3 month agoSuch a cozy romantic venue! Amazing atmosphere with even better food. Staff was attentive, and friendly with good notes and suggestions regarding the menu. We enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc which was crisp and dry, paired with the Beef Carpaccio (so delicate and smokey with a delicious horseradish aioli), The muscle and clam steamed dish with a butter and white wine sauce (gentle hints of garlic, very buttery and the seafood perfectly cooked while absorbing that delicious sauce), both served with grilled focaccia. The final dish was a show stopper, salmon on a preserved lemon risotto - creamy rich, seasoned to perfection. The sear on the salmon was perfect as was the delicate seasoning. Every dish was one hit after another, and the vibe was so relaxing and friendly! A gentleman celebrated his 75th birthday near us and everyone present joined in singing and clapping, felt very neighborly and heartwarming! Perfect for a date night, celebratory dinner, or just for no other reason than to treat yourself!

3 month ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10 Acres Bistro - A great dining experience in downtown Victoria 10 Acres Bistro sits right in the heart of downtown Victoria, in a scenic and lively district. The space is warm and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating including a cozy outdoor fireplace that adds a romantic touch. The menu isn’t huge, but it features some interesting and well-crafted dishes. The food itself was very good, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Our server was amazing, friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant to talk with. She took care of everything we needed and really elevated the whole experience. A great spot for a date night or a relaxed evening out. Highly recommend.
