The last time I was at the spot where Grandeur Palace used to be, I was surprised to see it’s now East Ocean. Time really does fly, but one thing’s for sure—Chartwell Shopping Centre is still as busy and crowded as ever.East Ocean turned out to be a great find. Their dim sum is tasty, and the $5.20 per dish deal before 11am is such a good value. The place has that lively, buzzing atmosphere that makes it fun to come with family on the weekends. Lots of laughter, good food, and plenty of energy—it’s exactly the kind of spot I enjoy coming back to for a dim sum fix.

Had our wedding banquet here! The staff were very professional and accommodating with the set up. Decorations and speakers/sound system came included. They helped us set up the drinks and provided ice for us. Throughout the night we kept getting compliments on the food - very tasty, great portions, came in hot and fresh. Everything ran very smoothly and they gave us plenty of time for games and speeches. I had a fun and stress-free reception!

It was a very busy restaurant in the weekend morning, waited over 35 minutes to get the table. The dim sums were decent and tasty with reasonable prices. There were additional discounts if you ordered before 11am. The staff were generally friendly and helpful while some were a bit rough probably due to being too busy. Overall it is a decent restaurant and recommended! My rate is 4+.

*Dinner at Grandeur Palace* Stepping into Grandeur Palace with seven friends felt like walking into a proper Cantonese banquet hall. Red lanterns cast a warm glow over dark wood tables, and the low hum of family-style chatter mixed with clinking teacups made the whole place feel lively but not chaotic. We had a big round table with a lazy Susan, which was perfect for sharing. Service was on point from the start. Our server knew the menu inside out, topped up our jasmine tea without us asking, and paced the dishes so we weren’t overwhelmed but never waited long either. You could tell the staff were used to handling big groups, and they made it feel effortless. The food is what really stole the night. For eight of us, we ordered family-style and left stuffed. The lobster noodle was the star: wok-fried e-fu noodles tossed with generous chunks of sweet lobster, ginger, and scallion, all coated in that rich, savory seafood sauce you want to pour over rice. The fried oysters came out piping hot with a light, crispy batter and a tangy pepper-salt dip that had us fighting for the last piece. We also dug into Peking duck with the classic pancakes and hoisin, steamed garoupa with soy and cilantro that was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and a sizzling beef with black pepper that still had wok hei. Add in some gai lan with garlic, Yangzhou fried rice, and a claypot tofu for balance, and it was the kind of spread where every dish gets cleaned. Portions were generous, flavors were bold but balanced, and nobody left hungry. For atmosphere, food, and service that actually understands group dining, Grandeur Palace is a solid win.

The restaurant offers authentic Cantonese cuisine that is delicious and presented beautifully. The full menu has many combos, seafood, and vegetables. The service is excellent too. Completed with complementary soup and dessert, this made a satisfactory and pleasant dining experience!

It's been a while since I've been in the Brimley/Huntingwood neighbourhood of Scarborough. I used to live nearby and there have been many changes throughout the years but there's been good food in the plaza for many years. An old friend and I had a craving for Chinese BBQ so we headed to Grandeur Palace, located in Chartwell Shopping Centre. We both had a combo with BBQ Duck, Roast Pork, Rice, Vegetables, and a bottle of water for $10.99. It was a good price, considering the generous portions that we got and the quality of the food. It was really good, with meaty pieces and great flavour. There are lots of similar offering in Scarborough but this place was good. I'd come back.

The set dinner $188 for 4-6 has very good value. Food is tasty and portion is good. A little bit noisy and they served all the dishes at the same time. Seems they did not have enough staff.
